For the first time in its history, the America's Cup is coming to Italy, with Naples selected as the host city for the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup. From now until July 2027, the Gulf of Naples will become the centre of international sailing. The races will take place on one of the world's most spectacular racecourses, with Mount Vesuvius as the backdrop, Capri and Ischia on the horizon, and the city's waterfront transformed into a vast natural arena for thousands of spectators. For the first time in more than 170 years, the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup will be held in Italy.

The Road to Naples has already begun

The journey to Naples 2027 is driven by innovation, research, and technological development. Teams are designing the new AC75 yachts, planning their training programmes, and competing in preliminary regattas to fine-tune both crews and boats ahead of the final challenge.

Louis Vuitton Preliminary Regatta – Naples 2026

The first major taste of the event will take place from 24 to 27 September 2026, when Naples hosts one of the Louis Vuitton Preliminary Regattas. It will be the first opportunity to watch the world's leading teams compete live in the Gulf of Naples and experience the excitement of the America's Cup more than a year before the main event.

The main event begins on 10 July 2027, when the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup Match gets underway. Racing will continue throughout the week, with the potential conclusion scheduled for the weekend of 17–18 July 2027. In the months leading up to the competition, Naples will host training sessions, official presentations, fan events, and a wide range of activities for visitors from around the world.

The World's Finest Sailing Teams

The competition will bring together the world's leading sailing teams, all competing for the oldest trophy in international sport. Their futuristic AC75 yachts—remarkable examples of cutting-edge engineering—are capable of exceeding 50 knots. Every race is the result of years of research, simulation, aerodynamic design, and elite athletic preparation.

Luna Rossa and Italy's Dream

For Italian sailing fans, special attention will naturally focus on Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, the country's iconic sailing team. Competing in front of a home crowd will make this edition of the America's Cup particularly special and create an unforgettable atmosphere.

The Race Village on Naples' Waterfront

The famous Lungomare Caracciolo will host the official Race Village, the vibrant heart of the event. Visitors will find fan zones, exhibition areas, sailing simulators, giant screens, food and beverage outlets, official merchandise, crew appearances, and daily entertainment. It will be a celebration open to the entire city.
